So today we had to go back to the Civil Affairs office for more paperwork and a short interview. Families have 24 hours to decide if the child is right for them before completing the adoption paperwork in the province. Sadly, there are cases where families do not want to proceed with the adoption. We were asked in the interview: when did we get married, what our yearly salary is, will we promise to love, support, and not abuse our child, and if we are satisfied with the child. We both choked up on the last question, finding the word satisfied as an odd term. We are beyond ecstatic with our little girl, and feel very fortunate that she is still doing very well today.
We went shopping after our appointment this morning to get Yue Lu another pair of shoes and some more clothes. Her 5T jeans were falling off of her and her 4T tops are snug. Yue Lu likes to be picked up and held and she is a solid heavy girl. Our guide asked her this morning how she is feeling and if she is happy, and she said she was. When we were at the Civil Affairs office, Maggie, her classmate, was sitting on my lap and she nudged her and sternly said "my mama"! Overall, she is very giving, polite, and loves to clean up and put stuff away...my kinda girl!
Tomorrow morning we are visiting the orphanage and then going to the Lord Bao memorial temple. On Thursday we are going to the Hefei zoo, and Friday afternoon we leave for Guangzhou after our guide picks up her passport.

Kathie, she may just be a size 5. The T is for todlers and are cut different (to allow for diapers and stuff like that.) Spencer being tall in thin went straight to 4s and 5s.. he skipped the last T sizes. Also, once you get to non todler, they make slim, regular and husky which helps as well.
