Mother's Day and our One Year Anniversary!!!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day yesterday! It was officially my second Mother's Day with Lulu since our "Gotcha" day was Mother's Day a year ago (today!) in China! We celebrated Mother's Day by going to the beach and then out to dinner. Today we are spending the day together for our one year "Forever Family" or "Gotcha" day anniversary! We are going out to breakfast, then playing at the park, and doing family fun stuff at home afterward. So, no work or school today. Loving all this family time!

It's hard to believe that it's been one year already since Lulu has been in our lives. Our Lulu has changed so much in the past year! Her transition has been harder than I had imagined and I have been challenged as a mother in ways I hadn't anticipated. The good thing is that no matter how many set backs we continue to face, overall we continue to move forward with Lulu's adjustment and our deepening attachment and bonding with each other. She is truly an amazing girl, with a beautiful spirit, and has a love for life! With all the changes she's had in her short life, I'm sure deep down she expects more. We tell her all the time there will be no more families. She is ours and we are hers forever!!!

Pictures to come soon!
